For filming in and around railways

For clients shooting commercials, TV shows, videos, and films in and around railroads, Railroad Protective Liability Insurance (RPLI) is critical to protect film production companies and their crews. As part of our full spectrum of insurance coverage, you can add RPLI to our General Liability policy. Railroads contractually require this coverage to ensure that, if something goes awry, they will not be held responsible for damages or injuries caused by the filming operations.

RPLI Is Available for Over 50 Types of Eligible Productions (includes commercials, music videos, short films, feature films, and webisodes)

• Short-Term Productions (budgets of up to $1M, up to 60 days)
• Production Portfolio (budgets of up to $30M and up to 12 months)
• DICE/Annual Productions (all budgets)

Declared and Accepted Railroad Activities

• Inactive Track: Non-hazardous filming activities on an inactive track – one where there is no train involvement and the track is indefinitely out of service.
• Service Track: Filming on tracks where trains do not pass through for regular scheduled routing.
• Railroad Station Only: Non-hazardous filming activities at a railroad station. Insured is not aboard a train.
