Short Term Productions

The full array of insurance coverages at competitive premiums for productions with budgets up to $1,000,000 and duration up to 60 days.

Eligible Productions

There are over 50 types of eligible productions, including commercials, music videos, short films, feature films, and webisodes. Eligibile productions:

  1. Have a budget of no more than $1,000,000;
  2. Shoot only in the US or Canada;
  3. Do not have any Live Gangster Rap Music or Hard-Core/Soft-Core Porn.

Coverages

Available coverages include:

Inland Marine Rented Equipment, Owned Equipment, Props, Sets and Wardrobe, Negative & Faulty Stock, Third Party Property Damage, Extra Expense, Cast and more.
General Liability General liability (including increased limits), Stunt Buyback, Special Certificates & Waivers.
Automobile Automobile Liability, Physical Damage.
Workers Compensation Workers Compensation.
Excess Liability Limits available up to 10 million.
Travel Accident Travel Accident to comply with guild requirements.
Volunteer Accident Accident coverage for volunteers.

Cast Extra Expense

Cast extra expense is now available for production programs. Coverage options include blanket coverage with sickness (no medicals required), blanket coverage without sickness, and family bereavement.

Cast limits available are 100%, 75%, 50% and 25% of Gross Production Cost.

Stunts, Animals, Precision Driving

Stunts, animals, and precision driving scenes are now available as a buyback option for the Short Term Productions program.

Multiple scenes can be declared to a single production and quoted online.

Eligible Stunts

Eligible declared stunts, animals, and precision driving scenes can now be purchased as a buyback to the existing stunt exclusion. Multiple scenes can be quoted online simultaneously with the production.

Aerial Scenes

Shoots from aircraft including airplanes, helicopters, gliders, balloons and unmanned aircraft (drones).

Includes scenic shots from private or commercial aircraft that do not involve aerial acrobatics or other hazardous maneuvers.

For aerial scenes other than drones. Does not include aircraft liability.

Animals

Scenes involving the use of animals, such as dogs, farm animals, household pets, and zoo animals.

Falls

Scenes involving scripted and choreographed falls.

Fight Scenes

Fight scenes that are choreographed, structured, and sequenced. These scenes may involve physical contact between actors and the use of weapons.

Precision Driving

Controlled driving on public roads, race tracks, off-road, chase scenes, skidding, collisions, explosions, motorcycles.

Pyrotechnics

Fireworks, flashboxes, demolition, explosions, and other pyrotechnic effects.

Railroad Scenes

Non-hazardous filming activities at railroad stations, inactive tracks, service tracks or taking place on a passenger, commuter, or freight train. More Info

Recreational Vehicles

The use of recreational vehicles such as ATV's, go carts, mopeds, motorcycles, scooters, segways, snowmobiles, and similar type vehicles.

Water Scenes

Canoes, kayaks, shots on lakes, shoots primarily in water, surfing, pools.

Does not provide watercraft coverage. See the movie boat program.

Weapons

Scenes that involve prop guns, squibs, blanks, knives or other similar weapons.

How to include Stunts

The stunt exclusion can be bought back for eligible declared stunts.

  • Stunts are quoted online simultaneously with the production.
  • Stunts must be declared.
  • Multiple stunts may be declared to a single production.
  • Certain stunts are not eligible for workers compensation.
